Le Diplôme avant la Médaille (DAM) is looking for tutor volunteers who care about kids and their wellbeing.
DAM is an organization that uses sports as a way to encourage high school students who are more likely to drop out to persevere and stay in school. Among its services, the impact of the tutoring program on students’ success is considerable. Since 2012, 95% of students supported by DAM have gotten or are still working toward their secondary diploma.
Tutoring can be done in class, online or a mix of the two. Close to 300 tutor volunteers are needed to help student athletes this year.
You, too, can contribute to a secondary student’s future! You will help the student with certain subjects during weekly one-hour sessions, from October to April, at minimum. You can choose the type of tutoring, time slots and subjects you are able to help with. In addition, a free training and ongoing support from the DAM team will be available to you.
