Léo Basile and his partner run for newborns

Léo Basile, Advisor, Data Governance at iA Financial Group, and his partner Émilie Croteau will be running as a team this fall, in aid of the Fondation Santé Trois-Rivières health foundation.

This year, the $20,000 they plan to raise will go towards the purchase of a neonatal resuscitation table, a specialized piece of equipment that will be used to care for newborns in the operating room of the Centre hospitalier affilié universitaire régional (CHAUR) hospital in Trois-Rivières.

“We have a baby, and if our child had needed this table when she was born, we would have liked her to have access to it so that all the odds would be in her favour,” confided Émilie and Léo. “When you become a parent, it changes your perspective in many ways.”

To achieve their goal, Léo and his partner are counting on a team of 30 runners who will be taking part in the P'tit train du Nord marathon in the Laurentians as well as the Couleurs de Bécancour half marathon.

Their very motivated team has even adopted a logo and slogan—Jean Cours tu?—in reference to the pharmacy chain for which Léo’s partner is a director.

As added encouragement for the team’s determination, iA Financial Group has also supported Léo and his team by making a donation under its donation policy for employees who get involved in their community.
