Nancy Daigle from the Granby agency creates a new event supporting mental health
August 18, 2022Mon sommet pour toi (My Summit for You) is a fundraising mountain climb on September 24 and 25 to raise money for mental health. In this fun event, teams of two to six people choose from three challenges and two mountains, Bromont or Shefford, it’s that simple!
All funds raised will be donated to the organizations Oasis Santé Mentale, L'Autre Versant, l'Éveil and the Haute-Yamaska suicide prevention centre, which serve the Haute-Yamaska and Brome-Missisquoi regions. An ambitious fundraising goal of $75,000 has been set for this first edition of the event.
To understand the deeper meaning of her involvement, let's read Nancy's touching words:
I’ve been involved for many years in various fundraising events in the region, but in the past few years I have seen and heard the desperate need in the mental health field. In our profession, we are well placed to understand this.
I have a brother who was diagnosed with schizophrenia 25 years ago. My family and I have known for a long time that there is still, and more than ever, a lot of work to be done in terms of the tools, support and especially the stigma associated with mental health.
On a personal level, I’m also affected by mental health issues. I am successful in my career, but because I am a perfectionist I also struggle with performance anxiety. Mental health affects all of us!
Thank you to my coworkers in the Granby agency who were so willing to participate!

Congratulations and good luck!
