We are proud to continue our collaboration with Tel-Jeunes with a donation of $100,000 over the next two years.
Our financial contribution will support the mission and development of the Tel-Jeunes and Ligne Parents helplines, which help thousands of young people and parents looking for answers during the pivotal time of their lives that is adolescence.
As you might expect, since the beginning of the pandemic, the need for the services this organization provides has exploded. From April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021, over 65,000 young people contacted the Tel-Jeunes team of counsellors, either by text, phone, chat or email. There were 48,000 the year before.
Almost half the interventions were related to mental health. Depression, isolation and stress were some of the topics discussed. There were also over 663,000 visitors to the teljeunes.com website.
Adolescence is a time of life that is full of strong emotions, for young people as well as their parents. There are many doubts and questions that come up, and it’s not always easy to ask for help. Tel-jeunes strives to be a trustworthy ally who can listen and provide a reassuring presence.
