On September 12, on Côte-de-Beaupré, near Quebec City, one of our iA teams took the Ride to Conquer Cancer. This team raised over $27,000 for research and patient care at Montreal’s Jewish General Hospital and the CHU de Québec (Quebec City university medical centre). Pierre Beaudry, team captain and former iA Financial Group employee, gives us the highlights:
“This Ride was a ride to remember. We had two cancer survivors and their testimonials were inspiring. We left the Domaine de Maizerets park and, after a stop at Aux Trois Couvents museum in Château Richer, we rode to and stopped for lunch at La Grande Ferme museum in St-Joachim. On our way back, we rode along the Cap Tourmente National Wildlife Area to the Basilica of Ste-Anne-de-Beaupré, where we were expected for a short ceremony. We then continued on to our departure point with a final stop at Espace Filion riverfront park, in Ange-Gardien. During the ride, which was supervised by the Sentinelles de la route cycling group, we complied with public health directives.
I want to thank iA Financial Group from the bottom of my hears, for its support for our team and the important cause that is cancer research and patient care. On behalf of the 2020 iA Financial Group Ride to Conquer Cancer team, the Jewish General Hospital Foundation and the CHU de Québec, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.”
In total, the 2020 Ride to Conquer Cancer raised $1.3M. With these funds, world-class doctors, researchers and scientists can continue to develop new technologies and advance the treatment of patients.
Pierre Beaudry has been involved with the Ride to Conquer Cancer for a long time. He is also an ambassador for Montreal’s Jewish General Hospital Foundation.
Congratulations to everyone who took part and who supported our team!
